ATOMMASH FACTORY

Volgodonsk manufacturing site is one of the main suppliers of equipment for nuclear power industry, oil and gas industry and heat power industry.

The factory was built on 180 hectares of land for the development of nuclear power industry in the USSR. The key task was the complete production of nuclear power plant equipment. The first production facilities were launched in 1976.

The production of main equipment for nuclear power plants as well as design and manufacturing of petrochemical industry equipment, sets of machine-building structures for cranes of various types and purposes is carried out at modern workshops of the factory.

PRODUCTION AND SHIPMENTS

The logistical system of the enterprise makes it possible to deliver products throughout the Russian Federation and to countries around the world using road logistics, waterways and railroad service.

The local port is connected with five seas - the White and the Baltic seas in the north, the Caspian sea in the east, the Azov and the Black seas - in the south.

When shipping, the sizes and weight of products are taken into account - this is the main feature for transportation of bulky goods. This task is handled by special cranes at the factory berth, when it comes to transportation by water route; special transport with the issuance of necessary permits for transportation of long or too high items on roads.
During overseas transportation, special anti-corrosion materials are used and additional arrangements are made.

Atommash has carried out a check assembly of Reactor vessel for Kudankulam NPP

Atommash plant (a part of machine-building division of Rosatom) has performed an assembly of the Reactor vessel with the Internals. The item is being manufactured for power unit No. 5 of NPP "Kudankulam" (India).

1976

Construction

The first factory production building No. 3 was put into operation, construction of main production building No. 1 for complete manufacturing nuclear power plant equipment began. In total, the plan provided for the construction of six production buildings.

1981

The First Reactor

Atommash manufactured the first VVER-1000 Reactor Vessel - the first Donskoy Reactor. The equipment was delivered to the 2nd Power Unit of South Ukrainian NPP. A total of 13 Reactor Vessels and more than 120 units of large heat exchange equipment were manufactured at the factory during the Soviet period.

1997

The nineties

The factory became part of Energomash Group of Companies.

2012

Rosatom State Corporation

In 2012, the factory became part of a machine building division of Rosatom State Corporation and became a production site of AEM-Technologies. A modernization program was launched at Atommash: the stock of machine tools was updated, new welding equipment was purchased, steam generator final assembly yards and reactor internals fit-up assembly test sections were set up, a set of equipment for local heat treatment, modern testing and quality control systems were put into operation.

2015

The first shipments

In October 2015, a reactor vessel for the first Unit of Belarusian NPP and a set of steam generators were shipped to Rostov NPP.

2018

Entering international markets

In October 2018, Atommash shipped equipment outside the former Soviet Union for the first time — a set of steam generators for Unit 4 of Kudankulam NPP in India.

2020

Record 5/18

A banner year of Atommash. Members of the Company team manufactured 18 steam generators and 5 reactor vessels, one of which is VVER-TOI new type reactor for Kursk NPP-2. Production capacity of the factory allows to dispatch up to four sets of equipment per year.
