The largest machine-building enterprise of the Republic of Karelia

Since 2010, manufacturing site Petrozavodskmash has been included in the machine-building division of Rosatom State Corporation. In a short time, Petrozavodskmash mastered the manufacture of a significant part of the NPP "nuclear island" equipment. Currently, it specializes in the production of the following NPP products: reactor coolant pumps, pipe units of the Main Coolant Pipeline, emergency core cooling system accumulators and passive core flooding system accumulators and other equipment.

PRODUCTION AND SHIPMENTS

Shipment of finished products is carried out by road, rail and water transport.

Due to its own loading terminal on the shores of Lake Onega, Petrozavodskmash has direct water communication with all the seas of the world through the Volga-Baltic Canal.

Petrozavodskmash has begun to ship reactor coolant pump housings for Tianwan NPS

In the course of manufacture, the RCP housings are subjected to all necessary kinds of inspection, particularly radiography, and a series of tests, of which hydraulic tests under overpressure (24.5 MPa) are of key importance. Upon approval as a result of all the inspections, the equipment is ready for shipment after being paint coated and preserved. Petrozavodskmash has shipped the first RCP housing for Tianwan NPS. In total, the scope of delivery comprises four RCP housings and spacers.

Petrozavodskmash manufactured pipeline valves for Rooppur NPP

Petrozavodskmash (a part the machine-building division of the Rosatom State Corporation, and a member of Karelian Regional Wing of the Russian Engineering Union) manufactured stop valves of up to 600 mm diameter, intended for equipping the reactor hall of power units No. 1 and No. 2 of Rooppur NPP (the People’s Republic of Bangladesh).

Petrozavodskmash launched cladding of blanks for pipelines of China NPP

Petrozavodskmash (a member of machine building division of Rosatom State Corporation, and Karelian Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union) has started cladding main coolant pipelines (MCP) of Tianwan NPP (Unit No. 8) and Xudapu NPP (Unit No. 4). The nuclear power stations are being built in the People’s Republic of China.

Enterprise history

1960

In 1960, a decision was made to build a new plant and create a branch of TsNIIBummash Industry Institute. The equipment was to be manufactured on a turnkey basis.

1963

The first products were delivered already in 1963. And in 1965, Balakhninsky Pulp and Paper Mill was supplied with the first domestic chain grinder weighing over 120 tons for the production of wood pulp. In subsequent years, the largest producers of newsprint were equipped with Tyazhbummash products.

1990

In the 1990s, Petrozavodskmash Joint Stock Company was set up on the basis of the Plant, which continues to produce equipment for Pulp and Paper Industry, develops and increases the production of equipment for petrochemical industry, small-scale power generation and other industries. In the 2000s, the development of high technological shipping packaging sets began. Currently, this product has been put into serial production.

2010

Since 2010 Petrozavodskmash has been the industrial site of AEM-Technologies (included in the machine-building division of Rosatom State Corporation - Atomenergomash). This solution became truly historic for the largest Karelian machine-building company in the year of its 50th anniversary.
