Izhora Plants

A large machine-building complex with a 300-year history. One of the oldest industrial enterprises in the country. The key specialization is the manufacture of equipment for nuclear power and petrochemical industries.

The plants began to be built in 1722 by Decree of Peter the Great for the needs of fledgling Russian fleet. Over time, the enterprise has grown to the scale of a production complex.

Currently, Izhora product range includes equipment for nuclear power industry, petrochemical industry, and high-energy physics research. The manufacturing plants of Izhora industrial site operate according to a closed production system.

The products of Izhora plants are supplied to leading metallurgical enterprises and oil refineries throughout Russia.

The Company participates in the construction of Akkuyu NPP, supplies equipment for Xudapu NPP and Tianwan NPP in China, Kudankulam NPP in India, Kursk NPP-2, etc.

Company History

1722

Tsarist Russia

Izhora Plants were established by the Decree of Emperor Peter the Great in 1722. The first products of the works were lumber for construction of St.Petersburg and for the needs of the fledgling fleet.

In 1803, efficient modification began. From that moment on, the enterprise developed as a diversified metallurgical and machine-building complex, fulfilling mainly orders of the Russian Navy.

1918

Soviet period

Since 1918, steam engines and wagons have been repaired at the enterprise, tanks and armored hull components, bloomings and the first towing steamers have been manufactured.

In 1958, the development of nuclear power engineering began. In particular, the first vessel of a water-cooled power reactor with a capacity of 210,000 kilowatts was manufactured at Izhora Plants.

2009

Revamping

In 2009, DSP-120 - a super-powerful steel-melting complex of the latest generation with production capability of more than 250 thousand tons of special steels per year was put into operation in the metallurgical production facility.

2014

Nowadays

In 2014, the manufacturing cycle of a unique shell of the new generation nuclear reactor core of VVER-TOI project was completed. The pilot-standard shell about 6 meters long was forged on 12000 tnf automated forging plant from an ingot weighing 420 tons, underwent heat treatment and machining and entered on systems testing.

2017 – The reactor vessel for the second power unit of Leningrad NPP-2 was shipped.

2022 - The plants became part of AEM-Technologies Company.
