Relief Tanks

A relief tank is a component of the reactor plant pressurizer system. It is designed to receive and condense steam coming from the pressurizer and primary circuit of the reactor when the safety valve is activated.

* Currently, the relief tanks are produced by ZiO-Podolsk.

General characteristics
The relief tank is made of austenitic chromium-nickel steel and has 17 nozzles and pipe connections. The relief tank is a vessel made of elliptical bottoms and shells. Inside, the vessel is equipped with steam-distributing headers.
