Production of refinery reactors

The industrial site has introduced an integrated procedure for heavy petrochemical reactors production. The equipment and columns designed for different purposes are assembled of forged shells made of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel, which is an advanced material used for manufacturing of such vessels. The procedure involves stage-by-stage assembly and welding of forged or welded shells

Quality control
Use of up-to-date equipment, application of various welding and overlay welding procedures, as well as introduction of our own unique developments make it possible to manufacture large-sized and super-heavy reactors for oil refineries. To protect the inner surface of vessels against corrosion, a special procedure of homogeneous single-layer electroslag overlay welding with a 90 mm wide strip has been developed.
The machining equipment of the production facility enable us to machine products with a diameter up to 12 m, height up to 7 m, and weight up to 400 t. The up-to-date welding equipment and advanced technologies allows any type of welding including welding of thick items into narrow grooves as well as overlay welding of internal anticorrosion coatings on different surfaces including small diameter nozzles.

The quality of finished products is controlled at all production stages. Our colleagues from the Central Plant Laboratory, as well as from the Testing Center carry out the quality control.

To check the quality of finished equipment, we perform liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle tests, as well as macro- and microstructure examination of metal. Some production stages include flaw detection.

Shipment and delivery
Izhora Plants is the only domestic manufacturer of oversized equipment with a unit weight of up to 2 000 t.. Such equipment can be only delivered by water. Our cargo berth on the Neva River in Ust-Slavyanka enables easy shipment of large-sized vessels using various types of river freight vehicles regardless of the Neva's water level. The developed transport infrastructure allows rail and road shipment.
